Processing and characterization of Al-Mg-Si based Composites Reinforced with Steel

The aim of this paper was to experimental study of obtaining composites with Al-Mg-Si alloy as matrix reinforced with steel in two versions: steel strip of 0.3 mm thick and steel wire (F 0.8 mm). The composites was prepared in an induction furnace at 700-740oC. The casting semi-products composites were than hot-rolled (plastic deformation temperature was 460oC) and heat treated (solution treated at 500oC for 60 minutes and quenched in water (30-50oC)

Physical-Mathematical Model of Lorentz Factor for the Integrated Intensity of Single Crystal Diffraction

The Lorentz factor is a sensitive issue of X –ray diffraction because it is taking into account some factors witch influence the intensity of diffracted X-radiation, such as: (i) the geometry of the experiment and also (ii) the single crystal or poly-crystals size in the irradiation case of a set of crystallites (crystalline powder) . The difficulty of the subject consists in the possibility of different interpretation of the influence of these

A numerical dynamic behaviour model for 3D contact problems with friction

ABSTRACT This paper proposes a novel algorithm for the condition detection in which the slip state transitions in a stick-slip motion, or the solution breaks down and also to study the state transition of nodes belonging to the contact area: stick, slip or open contact state. We designed a Matlab Simulink program to simulate the occurrence conditions for the slip-stick transition analysing three types of contact surface materials, with respectively

Mathematical model of horizontal divergence contribution to the integrated intensity of single crystal diffraction in XRD analysis of materials

This paper examine a number of factors involved in the phenomena occurring into the interaction of X-rays and crystals. The mathematical modeling are the scientific way of proposal and implementation of analysis techniques based on previously models tested in laboratory. Normally, in diffraction experiments, a beam of incident X-ray radiation is simultaneously affecting both vertical divergence and horizontal divergence. To obtain more precise results

Materiale Compozite. Volumul 2: Obtinerea prin Metalurgia Pulberilor (MP) a materialelor compozite pe baza de Aluminiu /COMPOSITE MATERIALS, VOL.2 Powder Metallurgy (P/M) Processing of Aluminium Matrix Composites (AMCs)

In the second volume of the Composite Materials' book is presented in detail the aluminum based composite obtained by powder metallurgy (PM) route (the technology steps in powder metallurgy processing, respectively phenomena and processes that occur during each stage of PM technology). The book's targeted audience is primarily students of materials and mechanical science and engineering specializations, as well as students, engineers and researchers

Designing and continuous extrusion forming of Al-Mg-Si contact lines for electric railway

The experimental work aimed to obtaining the aluminum alloy contact lines for trams or light rail. For this purpose was elaborated AlMgSi0.5 Aluminum alloy was elaborated and semi-continuous casted into rods of f 175 x 6000 mm, and then homogenized (520° C / for 16 hours) for the continuous extrusion process. A chamber extrusion die was designed and executed. After continuous extrusion forming, the obtained contact wire has been heat treated (quenching

Fine structure analysis of biocompatible ceramic materials based hydroxyapatite and metallic biomaterials 316L

The aim of this paper was to obtain and characterize (surface morphology and fine structure) two types of materials: Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 hydroxyapatite powder (HAp) as biocompatible ceramic materials and AISI 316L austenitic stainless steels as metallic biomaterials, which are the components of the metal-ceramic composites used for medical implants in reconstructive surgery and prosthetic treatment. The HAp was synthesized by coprecipitation method,

Tribological behaviour and statistical experimental design of sintered iron-copper based composites

The sintered iron-copper based composites for automotive brake pads have a complex composite composition and should have good physical, mechanical and tribological characteristics. In this paper, we obtained frictional composites by Powder Metallurgy (P/M) technique and we've characterized them by microstructural and tribological point of view. The morphology of raw powders were determined by SEM and the surfaces of obtained sintered friction materials

Existence result of an effective stress for an isotropic visco-plastic composite

We define and present some theoretical characterizations of associated constitutive equations for a visco-plastic deformation of a composite. Introducing of an adequate topological framework for some visco-plastic state parameters, when considered a nonlinear stress-strain relations of Prandtl-Reuss type, we obtain the existence and uniqueness results of a steady state for a composite reinforced with other inclusions. The time-dependent plastic strains
