premii Ad Astra

Asociația Ad Astra a anunțat câștigătorii Premiilor Ad Astra 2022: http://premii.ad-astra.ro/. Proiectul și-a propus identificarea și popularizarea modelelor de succes, a rezultatelor excepționale ale cercetătorilor români din țară și din afara ei.

Asociatia Ad Astra a cercetatorilor romani lanseaza BAZA DE DATE A CERCETATORILOR ROMANI DIN DIASPORA.

Telocytes in Parotid Glands

The parotid histological structure includes acinar, ductal, and myoepithelial cells, surrounded by a connective stromal component. The parotid stroma is mostly regarded as an inert shell, consisting of septa, which divide the parenchyma. Telocytes were recently identified as a new stromal cell type in various organs, including exocrine pancreas. We aimed to evaluate telocytes presence in parotid stroma and whether their topographical features might

Recent soft computing methods in software reliability engineering

This paper presents recent approaches in soft computing to manage imprecision and uncertainty in software reliability engineering. Firstly, recent approaches like imprecise probabilities, generalized intervals, fuzzy sets and intuitionistic-fuzzy sets are shortly described, and the usage of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers for system reliability computation is shown. Intuitionistic-fuzzy approaches for software reliability growth models are proposed

Intuitionistic Fuzzy Approaches for Quality Evaluation of Learning Objects

Quality evaluation of learning objects asks for subjective approaches in a multi-criteria framework. This paper describes the usage of intuitionistic fuzzy sets for modelling the degree of acceptance/rejection of learning objects according to a set of criteria and proposes some methods for the best learning object identification. Experimental results are reported for items belonging to the computer science field evaluated both by students and teaching

Identification of ERD using Fuzzy Inference Systems for Brain-Computer Interface

A Brain-Computer Interface uses measurements of scalp electric potential (electroencephalography - EEG) reflecting brain activity, to commu nicate with external devices. Recent developments in electronics and computer sciences have enabled applications that may help users with disabilities and also to develop new types of Human Machine Interfaces. By producing modifica tions in their brain potential activity, the users can perform control of different

Integrated biostratigraphy and palaeoenvironments of an upper Santonian – upper Campanian succession from the southern part of the Eastern Carpathians, Romania

Study of an upper Santonian to upper Campanian hemipelagic succession from the southern part of the Romanian Eastern Carpathians enables us to establish an integrated biostratigraphy based on planktonic foraminifera and calcareous nannofossils and to compare this record with the agglutinated foraminiferal biozonation used for the Carpathians. Benthic foraminiferal assemblages were investigated using several methods, such as agglutinated and calcareous

Micropaleontological response to the changing paleoenvironment across the Sarmatian-Pannonian boundary in the Transylvanian Basin (Miocene, Oarba de Mures section, Romania)

The Sarmatian-Pannonian transition has been investigated in Section A of Oarba de Mures in the central Transylvanian Basin. Micropaleontological assemblages are diagnostic for different environmental settings and demonstrate a clear zonation, which was used to reconstruct the genetic units. Five stratigraphic sequences were described and subdivided based on the microfossil assemblages. Transgressive intervals were documented by five-chambered and

Recent Soft Computing Techniques in Software Risk Management

This paper considers the software risk management using intuitionistic-fuzzy models and imprecise/fuzzy probabilities or alternatives. The approach can be used for those cases when small data collections are available for analysis under vague and imprecise information based on expert information given by fuzzy numbers and/or fuzzy rules. The risk management for component based software development, agile management, and software security by analysis

Regarding the procurement of lithic materials at the Neolithic site at Limba (Alba County, Romania): sources of local and imported materials

Over the past decade, research at the site of the Neolithic settlement at Limba, Alba County, western Romania, has uncovered numerous lithic artefacts. The focus of this study is to compare the material from which the chipped stone artefacts were made to known geological sources of similar lithic material. Within a day's walking distance of the settlement there are numerous sources of lithic material suitable for producing artefacts. Within an area

The first resolved imaging of milliarcsecond-scale jets in Circinus X-1

We present the first resolved imaging of the milliarcsecond-scale jets in the neutron star X-ray binary Circinus X-1, made using the Australian Long Baseline Array. The angular extent of the resolved jets is ~20 mas, corresponding to a physical scale of ~150 au at the assumed distance of 7.8 kpc. The jet position angle is relatively consistent with previous arcsecond-scale imaging with the Australia Telescope Compact Array. The radio emission is
