premii Ad Astra

Asociația Ad Astra a anunțat câștigătorii Premiilor Ad Astra 2022: http://premii.ad-astra.ro/. Proiectul și-a propus identificarea și popularizarea modelelor de succes, a rezultatelor excepționale ale cercetătorilor români din țară și din afara ei.

Asociatia Ad Astra a cercetatorilor romani lanseaza BAZA DE DATE A CERCETATORILOR ROMANI DIN DIASPORA.

Stem potentialities of the human iris – An in situ immunohistochemical study.

According to recent findings multiple human tissues harbor stem cells which, in turn, have different levels of stemness. We performed an immunohistochemical study on paraffin-embedded samples to test if the in situ stromal cells of the iris of the human eye (EI) have immune stem/progenitor phenotypes. Eviscerated post-traumatic eyes from eight patients were studied. These irises were found to contain fibroblastoid stromal cells with a CD34+/CD45+/CD105+/CD117+/DOG1+/PDGFR-α+/vimentin+/nestin-/collagen

Immunohistochemistry of a choroidal melanoma: nestin, CD34 and CD117÷c-kit labeling

In a case of choroidal melanoma (CM) in a 70-year-old male patient, was firstly aimed at studying the processes of angiogenesis by use of nestin and CD34 antibodies. Anti-CD117÷c-kit antibodies were further considered for their progenitor cells specificity. Choroidal melanoma was histopathologically confirmed. Nestin-positive endothelia were found in the CM and the adjacent retina, but not in endothelia elsewhere in that eye. Nestin-positive non-pigmentary

Precursor and interstitial Cajal cells in the human embryo liver

Interstitial Cajal Cells (ICCs) were only proven in human adult hepatic tissue. The immune phenotypes of various cell types in the human embryonic liver (HEL) are scarcely described. It was hypothesized that in HEL ICCs are present and distinctive to the precursor/progenitor cells populations. It was aimed and performed a qualitative study of HEL by use of antibodies against CD117/c-kit, CD31, CD34, CD90, CD105, DOG1, Ki67, and adiponectin. Five

Suburothelial interstitial cells

The suburothelium has received renewed interest because of its role in sensing bladder fullness. Various studies evaluated suburothelial myofibroblasts (MFs), interstitial cells (ICs), interstitial Cajal cells (ICCs) or telocytes (TCs), which resulted in inconsistencies in terminology and difficulties in understanding the suburothelial structure. In order to elucidate these issues, the use of electron microscopy seems to be an ideal choice. It was

Early onset of podocytes apoptosis – a TEM study in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats

Cell death types are usually defined by morphological criteria. Even though podocyte loss is associated with various cell death mechanisms, podocyte apoptosis is rarely detected. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether morphological signs of apoptotic cell death could be detected in early streptozotocin-induced diabetes in rats kidneys. There were used five Wistar rats, and renal tissue samples were drawn after three weeks of disease and

Immunohistochemical analysis of matrix metalloproteinase-13 in human caries dentin

The immunoexpression profile of matrix metalloproteinase-13 was investigated for the first time in dentin of human caries and healthy teeth. Twelve permanent premolars (10 caries and 2 sound) were decalcified in ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and processed for embedding in paraffin wax. Sections 3-4 µm in thickness were cut and processed for immunohistochemistry. A mouse monoclonal anti-metalloproteinase-13 antibody was used for localisation using

Economic Policies

This book deals with the theoretical and practical foundations of cyclical economic policies (monetary, fiscal, budgetary, etc.), the structural ones (active sectoral policies, optimizing resource allocation policies, etc.), also the mixtures of established ingredients of different successful, intelligent economic policies, well adapted to certain specific circumstances. The approach takes into account, in each domain, the European rules and experiences.

Political Economy

Beyond the pragmatic and rational epistemology of the mainstream economics, the authors try to show that economics is simply rediscovering the objective essences, independent of the subject they observe, relevant by multiplying clear and distinct ideas, with Divine guarantee of the reality of perceptual intuitions and world's truths. Therefore, economics would be no longer a branch of metaphysics, but a discipline that is based on our overall concept

Religious Determinants of Economic Development

Economy cannot and must not be a layman science or secular praxeology. It is an area of investigation of the mechanisms and concepts that summarize some of the research area and understanding of human action. Economic epistemology emphasizes this aspect, but economics earns ontological value through its apriori determined purpose. However, in these circumstances, a transdisciplinary vision of the studied phenomenon gets new meanings and influences

RELIGIONOMICS

The values, faiths and virtues generate relatively stable attitudes and enduring predispositions of behavior, manifested in relation to a situation or person. The Weberian secularization hypothesis shows that, while the process of economic development is launched, the religious institution plays an increasingly reduced role in the social life and the members of a community are becoming less religious. We show that the frequency of participation in
